Shelley Adams gained her training and love for food while cooking for the movie business in Vancouver, BC. After moving to the Kootenays in 1985 she became the owner of the Whitewater Ski Resort where she was the creative director and chef for the Fresh Tracks Café. Shelley received training at La Varenne Cooking School in France.

Her successful book, Whitewater Cooks – Pure, Simple and Real Creations from The Fresh Tracks Café, led to the development of her second book, Whitewater Cooks at Home and now Whitewater Cooks with Friends.

Since it’s publication in October of 2011 this third book has sold out of its print run of 14,500 in just three months, and is now in its second printing. According to Book Manager National this book has outsold Jamie Oliver and Michael Smith in Canada and shows no signs of slowing down. The recipes in this book are used and modified by restaurants and chefs all across the country and word of mouth has helped to push her book to best-selling status.
